Content
Toni is on her way to school when she first sees him – a pig with a curly brown coat and a penchant for peanut flips. She is immediately besotted and decides to take Flips home with her. But what are Mum and Dad going to say when they find a woolly pig in the flat? Not to mention the landlady, Mrs Reimann! She doesn’t like animals at all. Maybe Jonte – the boy who has just moved in next door – can help Toni?! After all, it’s really hard trying to keep Flips hidden and he sometimes does the strangest tricks. Could he have run away from the circus? Toni and Jonte decide to find out, and eventually discover that Flips has come from a film set. He’s a film pig! That explains where he learnt all his tricks. When the animal trainer comes to collect Flips, it turns out that his headstrong nature makes him pretty unsuited to life as a film pig. So together, they decide Flips can stay with Toni after all. But what about the landlady? The children manage to find a solution to that too. It turns out that Mrs Reimann is scared of animals because she was once bitten by a dog. But even she can’t resist the woolly pig’s charm and she soon agrees to let him live in a little house in the garden.
